Mary & Matthew

They met at their best friend Mike’s birthday party in 2012, and both were aware of the presence of the other at the party.  A perfect match was made! Mike’s wife Elyse, was the Maid of Honour at Mary and Matt’s wedding, and best friend to Mary since grade three!

Matt proposed in their home, within a candlelit living room to the tune of their favourite song… :) He then whisked Mary off to the airport for a 2 week trip to Europe!!!  Really how sweet is that!

Fast forward to Aug 26, 2017.  It was a gorgeous sunny day.  Mary and Matt were getting ready in different suites at the Intercontinental Hotel, in downtown Toronto.  The big reveal and wedding party portraits took place in the Historic, Distillery District in front of the Love lock wall.  We then rushed to the venue, District 28, for the ceremony.  What a cool venue!  So much natural light, white walls, and open space.  You can be as creative as you like, it’s pretty much a blank slate.  Floral designer,  Petals & Stems, created a backdrop for the Ceremony, including the rose petals running down the aisle in perfect gradation from a tangerine to pink to soft yellow!  Oh and Let’s not forget the bouquets, boutonnieres and the tables adorned with greens and flowers in the reception.  As I’m writing this, I realized that the wedding cake so delicately piped ALSO had the same colour gradation as the ceremony petals running down the aisle!! How cool is that?!

The ceremony was beautiful, the cocktail hour and reception was filled with laughter and smiles all around. Great food, great music and LOTS of dancing!!

She is truly an inspiration and a vision of strength, health & fitness.

In her own words…

“Two years ago I made the best investment decision.. myself.  For as long as I can remember, I have always had negative comments made about my physical self.  Especially from loved ones, which hurt the most.  It really crushed my self-esteem.  Since then, I’ve started my fitness journey and I’ve learned so much from all my trainers. From technique, to form, to what was most important, diet.  I stand here with confidence, so happy with all I’ve accomplished.  So grateful to have found happiness within a new lifestyle I love.  Special thanks to May Rabano and Annette Chin-yee Chen for pushing me and sticking with me through everything.”
