Aurelia and Eoin met online eight and a half years ago, and quickly bonded over a shared passion for food. Knowing that they were meant to be together, on February 15th, 2016, they decided to get married! Fast forward to May 28th, 2017, they had their ceremony with friends and family present at Woodlot Restaurant.
“Woodlot is an important restaurant for
us. Eoin is a vegetarian and we are foodies, so it was really important
for us to celebrate our union surrounded by amazing food that was mostly vegetarian.
And they were able to provide oysters…a must for me. We also
wanted to avoid a sit-down dinner- we wanted our guests to mingle, enjoy each
other, enjoy the food! We knew that at Woodlot no one would leave hungry
(also extremely important to us)!!!!”
“I don’t believe this beautiful day would have
been possible without Rebecca Wise, my wedding planner- she took my ideas and
just ran with it…we were in sync the whole time and I couldn’t have asked for
a better ally. She gave me agency over my wedding when I was feeling
overwhelmed by all the details! Nor
would it have been possible without Kevin at Woodlot’s complete flexibility
when it came to menu options, making us a cheesecake, getting me some oysters,
and allowing me to bring in Le Gourmand Cookies.” - Aurelia

Catherine and Mike first met at Matthew Berland’s museum exhibit class at UW-Madison. They started hanging out at the Beauty Bar in Chicago (for Prince vs. MJ night) and in Berlin after a conference in 2015. Catherine proposed to Mike on October 22, 2016, outside the Hideout in Chicago. They were there for a Halloween themed funk and soul night. “We both planned the wedding remotely, (Mike living in Massachusetts and Catherine in Wisconsin).
On May 27th 2017, we met up and took a walk to take some portraits. We started in graffiti alley, paid a visit to Crywolf, stopped by Trinity Bellwoods park and off to the Cricket Club where they were married amongst friends and family!
