Missing teeth, lots of screaming, and non stop giggles. Are you going to brave the ball pit and crawl through tunnels with cameras to photograph these little monkeys? No I didn’t think so! It’s your time to just chill for once, while I get evidence of their shenanigans. They turn six only once after all!
They first met playing beach volleyball at Beach Blast in late 2011. Stef’s team was short a player, so a mutual friend suggested Nik join their team for the night. She then invited him out to play on her team many more times, and it took Nik nine months to finally build up the courage to ask her out! Their first date was in August of 2012.
They were engaged on April 30th, 2016, on the bank of the Humber River. A special location for them, not only was it their favourite place for hiking, but also the location of the 4th date, and most importantly…where they had their very first kiss!
Fast forward to Saturday October 8th. I arrived at her family home, to photograph her getting ready, while my second shooter Danielle was with Nik, his family and best man, Dan.
When Stefania was ready, I stepped out of the upstairs bedroom to make my way down to the main level. To my surprise, the Arlotto home had filled up quickly and quietly with family and friends downstairs, eating, drinking and chatting. All of whom were waiting in great anticipation to see Stefania in her elegant gown. Champagne was opened, and the celebrations had begun!
Next we headed to Caledon Ontario, to The Rainbow Valley Wedding Barn. It was a beautiful venue, and a way to bring Nik’s roots and home to Ontario. He grew up on a farm in Waskatenau Alberta. Both drawn to nature and the outdoors, it was a perfect place to celebrate their love with family. Not to mention the perfect depiction of both their personalities… Rustic Chic!
Guests travelled in from Alberta, Ottawa, New York, Argentina and Toronto.

They first met in March 2015 at work, and have spent every day together since. Both were working for the same company, for over two years, had never met before. It was love at first sight! On April 23rd, 2016 they went to visit Cambridge to celebrate her Mother’s birthday. Susan and Gabe went for a romantic walk by the river in an iconic part of downtown, it was there that Gabe went down on one knee and asked for Susan’s hand in marriage.
Fast forward to October 7th, at Caffino Restaurant in Toronto. We had great weather that day, despite the rainy forecast. They had an outdoor ceremony in the courtyard, followed by cocktails. The details, flowers and treats were all DIY. Susan and her friend Val, made these delightful cookies for the sweet table, 250 of them to be exact. All the while being supervised by Val’s Italian Mom, as she herself makes these batches twice a year! It was a special treat to have her friend of 20 years and her mom be apart of her special day. Susan even made her own Wedding cake! The flowers were all bought wholesale. Kirsten and Susan spent an afternoon arranging bouquets and boutonnières and centre pieces. The centre piece flowers were in Susan’s grandmother’s mason jars from the 1950’s. The wedding favors were cute little potted plants to take home, “Let the Love Grow”. A whole lot of love went into preparing for this day, and it certainly showed! Their guests were from Toronto, Cambridge, Peterborough and Florida.
